Venus Incarnis

Seeds of Material Divinity

A pivotal work in the ongoing exploration of “Re-membering Eden.” This project is a profound invitation to liberate ourselves from the “Decarnis shackles”—the societal constraints that alienate us from our bodies, from nature, and from each other.

Re-imagining Archetypes

At the heart of “Venus Incarnis” lies a re-imagination of powerful archetypes. The central figure is an appropriation of the ancient Willendorf Venus, a timeless symbol of fertility, presented in the posture of a Caganer, the traditional Catalan figure believed to bring good luck and a bountiful harvest.

This deliberate combination—with feces positioned behind the figure and a baby in front—directly challenges our societal prejudices against natural bodily functions, inviting us to embrace our complete, unashamed selves.

“We fled the Garden not because we were punished, but because we were ashamed to be seen. Now we return, knowing we were always beloved.”

A Living Metaphor

The physical manifestation of “Venus Incarnis” is a multi-layered installation designed as a living metaphor. It comprises:

  • A Wooden Light Box: An illuminated box housing a handwritten text that grounds the work in sacred iconography.
  • A Wooden Planter: Containing soil, grass, activated lentils, chickpeas, and the clay figurine.
  • The “Seedbomb”: An organic element emphasizing the project’s ecological core.

Throughout the exhibition, the seeds sprout and grow, embodying the fundamental Cycle of Life and demonstrating how “waste” transforms into vibrant new life through Syntropy.

Material Divinity

The philosophical backbone of “Venus Incarnis” is articulated in the manifesto, “I ACCEPT,” and the concept of “Material Divinity.” It posits that the sacred is found not in transcendence, but in the courage to descend and embrace the full spectrum of existence.

I ACCEPT: Growth

“I accept and love my entire self—not only the spirit and what is ‘Good, Beautiful, or Perfect’—but I also accept and honor what is earthly, animal, or perishable.”

Planting Seeds of Connection

“Venus Incarnis” extends beyond the gallery walls through a unique interactive component. Participants are invited to plant biodegradable kits and geotag their location on the global “Venus map,” fostering a sense of community and collective engagement.

Aphrodite’s Birthplace & A Final Invitation

The inaugural exhibition in Kythira, the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, creates a profound dialogue between antiquity and our contemporary environmental crisis. It reminds us that love, in its truest form, encompasses all of life’s cycles, even those that might make us blush.

What if true erotic connection demands this radical acceptance?

Ultimately, this project seeks to uncover the paradox and beauty of what is often hidden. If we truly seek deep love and wholeness, we must begin by re-evaluating our relationship with our “material vessel”—the only vessel we truly possess. Embrace the journey.
